Surah Yaseen: The Heart of the Quran

Surah Yaseen holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims. It is often recited for the sick, the deceased, and in times of need.

Why "Heart of the Quran"? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Yaseen." Just as the heart sustains the body, this surah is said to capture the essence of the Quran's message.

Themes of the Surah The surah addresses the reality of resurrection, the signs of Allah in creation, and the stories of past communities who rejected their messengers. It consoles the Prophet (peace be upon him) and affirms the truth of the message.

Recitation for the Dying The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Recite Yaseen over your dying." Many Muslims recite it at the bedside of those nearing death, seeking comfort and mercy for the soul.

A Reminder of Resurrection "Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop—then at once he is a clear adversary? And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, 'Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?' Say, 'He will give them life who produced them the first time.'" (36:77-79) — The surah powerfully addresses doubt about the afterlife.

Include Yaseen in your regular recitation. Its blessings are immense.
