Dua for Knowledge and Understanding

The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us to seek beneficial knowledge and to ask Allah for understanding. Here are duas for students and seekers of knowledge.

The Dua of Musa

"My Lord, expand for me my breast, and ease my task for me, and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech." (Surah Ta-Ha 20:25-28) Musa asked for clarity and ease in conveying knowledge. We can ask the same.

Dua for Beneficial Knowledge

"O Allah, benefit me by what You have taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge." This asks Allah to make our knowledge beneficial and to increase it.

Dua from the Quran

"My Lord, increase me in knowledge." (Surah Ta-Ha 20:114) This was the command to the Prophet (peace be upon him) when revelation came. Short, powerful, and to the point.

Before Studying

"O Allah, take me out of the darkness of conjecture and honor me with the light of understanding." Seek clarity and remove confusion.
