Dua for Distress and Anxiety

When worry, anxiety, or distress overwhelm the heart, the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught specific duas for relief. These have brought comfort to countless believers.

Dua of Yunus

"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:87) Yunus called this from the belly of the fish. The Prophet said: "The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Yunus) when he called from the belly of the fish: no Muslim supplicates with it for anything but Allah will answer him."

Dua for Anxiety

"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being overcome by debt and from the domination of men." The Prophet (peace be upon him) would seek refuge from these.

Dua for a Heavy Heart

This comprehensive dua asks Allah to make the Quran the spring of the heart, the light of the chest, and the removal of grief and worry.

Trust in Allah When anxiety strikes, remember:

"There is no power or strength except with Allah." Place your trust in Him.
